Departing ~6:00 am with private hotel pickup from Arusha or Moshi, you’ll drive to Marangu Gate (2 hrs from Arusha, ≈1 hr from Moshi), register with your professional guide and begin the trek at ~8:30 am. Walk through montane forest, giant heather and alpine moorland with regular photo and birdwatching stops. The 4–6 hour hike (route and pace dependent) includes a packed lunch at a scenic viewpoint before descending back to the gate and returning mid-to-late afternoon. 1-Day Kilimanjaro Hike from Arusha/Moshi
- 06:00 — Private pickup from hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
- Drive to Marangu Gate (≈2 hrs from Arusha, ≈1 hr from Moshi).
- Register with guides, safety briefing, begin trek (~08:30).
- Hike through montane forest into giant heather and moorland with photo and rest stops.
- Packed lunch at a scenic viewpoint.
- Descend to the gate mid-to-late afternoon.
- Transfer back to Arusha/Moshi; drop-off at hotel or airport in the evening.
When you arrive at Marangu gate, you will meet your professional Kilimanjaro climbing guide and register yourself, ready for climbing. At about 9:00 am, you will start the climb. During the day, you will climb up to Maudi Crater, which is about 3000 meters above sea level. In the middle of your day, you will enjoy a picnic lunch while admiring amazing views. The hike takes about 3 - 6 hours. Around 5 pm, you will be picked up at the gate and driven back to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha town.
